About Douglas Heck

I’ve been working in technology since 1979, right after United States Air Force basic training. That’s a lot of experience with technology! I’ve worked with and through so many great improvements in technology.

With a lot of technical school and experience with electronics, teletype equipment, weather equipment and crypto maintenance, the US Air Force provided me with a great start. After my time with the Air Force, I worked as a subcontractor with national security, supporting technology. After 2 years at Fort Meade, I spent 10 years with Ford Aerospace performing integration and test on many systems, again for national security. While at Ford Aerospace, I crossed over from Electrical Engineering evening studies to Computer Management and Information Technology, concentrating on database engineering, software development and systems integration. After gaining great experience at Ford, and a couple years with The Analytical Sciences Corporation (TASC), I ventured out on my own to work as a consultant with a broad set of businesses and organizations.

After nearly ten years as a consultant, I co-founded a local technology company where I supported many organizations in Carroll County as well as all of Maryland and 5 other states. After 11 years working with the technology company I returned to consulting.

Continuous Learning

Staying on top of technology requires constant effort and learning. I enjoy learning new techniques to apply to new challenges. I have always studied existing and upcoming technology to arm myself with the skill set to design and implement the best solution for my customers’ situations. I have been blessed with both great challenges and with the ability to build great solutions for great customers.
